These Terms of Use explain the terms on which you may use the White Cat Tax & Accounting Limited website.

By using this website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the website.

Who we are

This website is operated by White Cat Tax & Accounting Limited.

We provide fixed-fee, compliance-only tax and accounting services for straightforward, non-VAT registered clients. Our services are designed for construction subcontractors, landlords with straightforward residential rental income, sole traders and small limited companies.

White Cat Tax & Accounting Limited is regulated by ICAS.

Website information is general only

The information on this website is provided for general information only. It is not tax advice, accounting advice, legal advice or financial advice.

You should not rely on website content as a substitute for advice based on your specific circumstances.

Using this website, reading its content or submitting an enquiry form does not create an accountant/client relationship between you and White Cat Tax & Accounting Limited.

When our services begin

Our services only begin once:

  • we have confirmed that your circumstances are within our service scope;
  • you have completed our onboarding process;
  • any required identity, anti-money laundering and conflict checks have been completed;
  • we have agreed the relevant package and fees with you; and
  • you have accepted our engagement terms.

We reserve the right to decline work where your circumstances fall outside our service scope.

Service scope

Our fixed-fee packages are compliance-only. They are designed for simple records and clearly defined work.

Unless separately agreed in writing, our standard packages do not include:

  • tax planning or tax advisory work;
  • VAT returns or VAT-registered businesses;
  • payroll, pensions, P11D or benefits-in-kind work;
  • HMRC enquiries, investigations or disputes;
  • complex catch-up work;
  • capital gains tax calculations;
  • property sale calculations;
  • company secretarial services;
  • directors’ personal tax returns;
  • commercial property, holiday lets or complex property income;
  • CIS contractor returns; or
  • work outside the agreed package limits.

If additional work is required, we may quote separately or decline the work.

Non-VAT clients only

Our standard White Cat Tax & Accounting Limited packages are for non-VAT registered clients only.

If you are VAT registered, or become VAT registered, we may not be able to act for you under our standard packages. Where appropriate, and with your agreement, we may refer you to a related regulated firm or another adviser.

Records package and software

CIS subcontractors, landlords and sole traders use our own records package to provide the information we need in a structured way.

Small limited companies are managed through Xero. Where a Xero subscription is required, we may provide the subscription and recharge it at cost with no mark-up.

You must use the records process or software we specify for your package. If required access is cancelled or records are not provided in the required format, we may be unable to continue providing the service.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for providing complete, accurate and timely information.

You must:

  • provide all records and information we request;
  • upload records by the agreed deadlines;
  • respond to queries promptly;
  • review and approve figures before submission where required;
  • tell us promptly if your circumstances change; and
  • make payments to HMRC, Companies House or other authorities by the relevant deadlines.

You remain legally responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the information submitted to HMRC, Companies House and other authorities.

Late, incomplete or inaccurate information may delay submissions and may result in penalties, interest or other consequences. We are not responsible for penalties or losses caused by late, incomplete or inaccurate information provided by you.

Fees and payment

Fees are charged in line with the package agreed with you.

Our website may show “from” prices. Final pricing depends on eligibility, service scope, record volume, complexity and whether MTD or other requirements apply.

A one-off onboarding fee may apply.

Additional work outside the agreed package will be quoted separately and will only be carried out once agreed.

If fees are not paid when due, we may suspend or stop work, withdraw access to services, or terminate the engagement.

Deadlines and submissions

We will use reasonable care and skill when preparing agreed filings and submissions.

We can only meet filing deadlines if you provide complete and accurate information by the deadlines we set. HMRC, Companies House and other statutory deadlines remain your responsibility.

We do not guarantee that submissions can be completed on time where information is provided late, incomplete or in an unsuitable format.

Website availability

We aim to keep the website available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may suspend, withdraw or change the website without notice.

We are not responsible if the website is unavailable for any period.

Limitation of liability

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability where it would be unlawful to do so.

Subject to that, we are not liable for:

  • losses caused by your failure to provide complete, accurate or timely information;
  • penalties, interest or charges caused by late or incomplete records;
